Additional driver training test

Novice drivers who have committed an offence and drivers who have been disqualified from driving for more than a year must take a knowledge test at the end of additional driver training.

(the test is only available when you log in to the website or when the driving school activates it for you)

The test consists of 25 questions. Only one answer to the question is correct. The test is considered passed if at least 80% of the questions are answered correctly.

Additional training is provided in driving schools

Additional driver training is provided by driving schools, having the right to carry out this training. A driver starting at the school must present an identity document and a valid court decision or police order, under which the penalty was imposed. In addition, the novice driver must present a driver's license (unless the license is revoked).

The training is usually completed in one day.

KET violations that require additional courses

Additional driver training is required for novice drivers (with less than 2 years of driving experience) who have violated the following road traffic rules: violations of responsibilities for pedestrians, overtaking, prohibition of drivers using mobile devices, failure to obey traffic control signals, use of warning signals, driving through intersections, violations of drivers' use of seat belts, motorcycle helmets, speeding over 10 km/h and driving vehicles when a mild degree of intoxication is detected (from 0.2 to 0.4 percent).

Additional training is also mandatory for drivers who caused a traffic accident, in which road users were injured, and drivers of motor vehicles who were deprived of the right to drive due to violations of the KET.

How long does it take to complete additional courses?

Additional training must be completed within one year of the date of the violation. A temporary license held by a new driver will not be converted into a driver's license valid for ten years. If no Road Traffic Rules have been violated within two years, a ten-year license will be issued without additional training.

Drivers who have not violated traffic rules will have the right to change their two-year driving license to a ten-year driving license without additional training.
