Those wishing to work as a driving instructor and driving-theory teacher must attend special courses and pass an exam.
Every 5 years, driving-theory teachers and driving instructors are required to attend refresher courses (at least 30 hours) and must pass the Regitra Road Traffic Rules and Safety Exam, which consists of 60 questions. The test takes 50 minutes.
The test is passed if at least 90% of the questions are answered correctly, i.e. no more than 6 answers may be incorrect out of 60 questions.
The right to work as a driving-theory teacher and/or driving instructor is granted by the Lithuanian Transport Safety Administration (LTSA).
