Practical driving lessons with an instructor are a formal part of the training that every person seeking to obtain a driving licence must complete. These lessons are conducted at the driving school after concluding a contract with the driving school.

Category B (passenger cars) is normally subject to:
- At least 30 academic hours of practical driving.
- 1 academic hour = 45 minutes.
- In reality, one lesson usually lasts 2 academic hours (i.e. 1.5 hours).
- The last practical driving lesson is the driving test, which is filmed (imitation of the AB "Regitra" exam). After passing it, you will be officially added to AB "Regitra" as ready for the practical driving test.

What documents will be needed to start driving?
If you are about to study at a driving school just practice of driving (without theory), in order for the driving school to conclude a contract for driving lessons, you must provide:
- Certificate of passed driving theory at AB "Regitra".
- Driver medical certificate.
- Identity document.
- If you are a minor, the contract with the driving school will need to be signed by a parent or guardian.
If you are going to learn driving theory and driving practice at a driving school, for the driving school to conclude a learning contract, you must provide:

Training just before the "Regitra" exam
The last practical driving lesson at the driving school is the driving test, which is filmed (imitation of the AB "Regitra" exam). After passing it, you will be officially registered with AB "Regitra" as ready for the practical driving test, but what happens if you do not pass?

You can then take additional lessons before your practical school driving test to improve your driving skills before taking your practical driving test again.
You can take driving lessons before the practical driving test at the same driving school, with the same driving instructor, or choose a different driving instructor.
If you think that you failed your school driving test because of the fault of the driving school or your former instructor, you can always choose to take practical driving lessons at another driving school and take your last school driving test there. For this, you need to take a certificate of completed driving lessons from the current driving school and deliver this document to the desired driving school.
Lesson duration and content:
During the lesson before the practical driving test, the focus is on both improving driving skills on the lot and driving in real traffic conditions in the city.
The lesson content can be adapted to your individual needs and goals.
The duration of one driving lesson is 2 academic hours (1 hour 30 minutes).
You can take lessons before the practical driving test as many times as you like, until you feel confident to take the school practical driving test again.

Additional driving lessons are intended for those who want to update, strengthen or improve their driving skills and feel more confident on the road.

- After the mandatory 30 ac/hour driving lessons at a driving school and after passing the last school driving test, in order to get additional practice right before taking the driving test at AB "Regitra".
- After failing the driving test at AB "Regitra".
- After a long break without driving.
- When changing from a manual gearbox to an automatic gearbox.

- After returning from abroad.
